My Roots
Both my Mother and Father migrated to the United States at a young age. Mother found her path working for LAUSD as a parent representative and Father worked at a taco stand and created a landscaping business. Innovator spirit, unbreakable ambition and love for family moved them to actualize their vision to plant their roots in South Central, Los Angeles, California and raise my three siblings and I. My immigrant parents taught me the power to follow my vision against all odds with humility, ambition and love. That same innovator spirit drove me to create Visionary Justice Consulting, LLC as a practice to continue to empower marginalized community stories, experiences and histories like those of my parents.
My Education Journey
Liz Lopez is based in South Central, Los Angeles. She has a combined 10 years experience in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in education within the nonprofit, K-12 and higher education settings. She is a current graduate student in the PhD in Education (Higher Education Access and Equity focus) at Claremont Graduate University. She received her Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs within Organizational Leadership at the University of San Francisco and Bachelor of Arts in Chicanx/Latinx Studies with an emphasize in Social Policy and minor in Education at the University of California, Davis. She aims to assist efforts that maintain and strengthen a culture and climate that is inclusive for employees with marginalized backgrounds to thrive in education, media, tech and medical sectors.
